President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of seven individuals to serve on the Board of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The announcement of the appointment was made on Friday by the Presidency in a statement signed by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, titled ‘President Tinubu appoints board of Securities and Exchange Commission.’
The appointees are Mr Mairiga Katuka (Chairman of the Board), Mr Emomotimi Agama as Director-General, Frana Chukwuogor as Executive Commissioner (Legal and Enforcement) and Mr Bola Ajomale as Executive Commissioner (Operations).
Others appointed include Mrs. Samiya Usman as Executive Commissioner (Corporate Services), Mr. Lekan Belo and Mr. Kasimu Kurfi as Non-Executive Commissioners.
Ngelale stated that the President expects all Board members to apply their extensive experience and capability to advance the commission’s main goal of developing and regulating a capital market that is dynamic, fair, transparent, and efficient, in order to strengthen investor confidence and significantly contribute to the nation’s economic growth.
