The upcoming episodes of 'The Chi' will show the rise of a new leader during its sixth season.
The new trailer for the second part of Season 6, shared exclusively with TheWrap, shows the South Side residents of Chicago having a period of peace before facing unexpected threats.
After Douda (Curtiss Cook) reappears following Q’s murder and changes in his inner circle, Emmett (Jacob Latimore) and Kiesha’s (Birgundi Baker) relationship is strained due to Emmett's ties to Douda, which Keisha warns him is dangerous.
Emmett tells Keisha he's trying to keep them safe, but Keisha believes the only way is for Emmett to settle his debt with Douda.
'Whoever tries to kill me and fails needs to die,' says Douda, who is on a mission of his own.
Season 6, starting on Friday, May 10, will also focus on Victor’s (Luke James) past affecting his new role as city councilman, and Jada (Yolonda Ross) and Darnell (Rolando Boyce) worrying about their son Emmett's risky move.
Apart from the main cast, Season 6 also includes several guest stars such as Kandi Burruss, La La Anthony, and Vic Mensa.
Lena Waithe is the creator and executive producer of the drama series, along with other executive producers including Common, Aaron Kaplan, and Rick Famuyiwa.
'The Chi' will first premiere on Friday, May 10 for Paramount+ subscribers, before airing on Showtime on Sunday, May 12, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
