“Sex and the City” premiered on Netflix to a somewhat unenthusiastic audience.
The first season of the series, led by Sarah Jessica Parker and released on April 1, attracted 2.5 million viewers in its initial week on Netflix, ranking sixth on the list of most-watched TV shows.
The viewership for “Sex and the City” Season 1 was similar to that of “Is It Cake?” Season 3, which had 2.5 million views and came in seventh place on the list, and the Andrew Scott-led “Ripley,” which also had a slow start with 2.3 million views in its first week on the streamer, and came in eighth place.
Meanwhile, “3 Body Problem” maintained the top position on the most-watched TV list with 8.3 million views for the second consecutive week, despite a drop from its previous 15.6 million viewers. “3 Body Problem,” which had been on the list for three weeks since its release on March 21, continued to surpass both “Testament: The Story of Moses,” which ranked second with 5.7 million views, and “The Gentlemen,” which claimed the third spot with 5.6 million views in its fifth week on the list.
The thriller “Heart of the Hunter” remained the most-watched film with 10.9 million views – slightly lower than the previous week's 11 million views – while “The Little Things” secured second place with 8.7 million views and “The Maze Runner” took third place with 6.7 million views.
The fictionalized drama about Prince Andrew's notable BBC interview, “Scoop,” premiered to an audience of 5.8 million, securing sixth place on the list, surpassing the Millie Bobby Brown-led “Damsel,” which held the seventh spot with 4.9 million views.
