Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is a dependable Republican indicator, and his reluctance to discuss the Arizona abortion ban shows that Republicans are worried.
McConnell stated that he hasn't reviewed it yet, but he's confident that the issue will continue to be important during the election.

Reporter: Arizona’s Supreme Court just moved forward with a near total ban on abortion. Given your role in appointing three justices who overturned Roe, are you concerned about voter backlash?

Mitch McConnell always has something to say when he believes the Republican Party can gain from an issue. McConnell not only dodged the question about the Arizona abortion ban, but he also gave the most impartial answer possible.
How damaging is abortion for Republicans?
So damaging that Mitch McConnell was ready to assert that voters will make the decision on abortion in November. McConnell faces another challenge on the abortion issue within his own party. Senate Republicans are split on the issue. Some, like Lindsey Graham, support a near-total ban on abortion. Others want a ban with exceptions, and two Senate Republican women, Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins, are pro-choice.
The Republican Party is not only deeply divided on abortion, but the Senate Republican caucus could also divide on this issue.
McConnell’s response indicated that Republicans were starting to panic as they had no solutions on abortion.
