According Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Milan have chosen Victor Boniface, a striker from Bayer Leverkusen and Nigeria, as the top option if they can't sign Joshua Zirkzee.
AC Milan will definitely get a new center forward for 2024-25 because Olivier Giroud will leave when his contract ends in June, according to reports.
Many sources in Italy say that Bologna's Zirkzee is Milan's main target for next season. However, his price will probably be over €50m. Therefore, Milan is also considering other options, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.
A recent Gazzetta report suggested that Bologna could ask for €75m for Zirkzee, the same amount Manchester United paid for Rasmus Hojlund a year ago.
So, page nine of Tuesday’s printed edition of Corriere dello Sport has mentioned Boniface as Milan's backup plan if they can't sign Zirkzee.
The Bayer Leverkusen player has been a target for Milan for a long time. The Serie A team tried to sign him from Union St Gilloise, but they couldn't agree, and he ended up signing with Bayer for over €20m in 2023.
According to the report, Boniface is valued at around €40m-€50m for a transfer.
Boniface has scored 16 goals and provided nine assists in 25 games in all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen this season. His contract with the Bundesliga leaders ends in June 2028.
