After the Arizona Supreme Court upheld the 1864 abortion ban in the state, Kari Lake, a candidate for the Senate, falsely claimed she was against the ban.
This is Kari Lake's statement on the abortion ban today:
In addition to reporting on Arizona for 27 years with fairness and honesty, I have traveled across the state during the campaign. I talk to more Arizonans than anyone else, and it's clear that the old law is not in line with what Arizonans want.
I am the only woman and mother in this election. I understand the anxiety of pregnancy and the joy of motherhood. I fully agree with President Trump that this is a very personal issue that each state and its people should decide. I disagree with today's ruling, and I urge Katie Hobbs and the State Legislature to come up with a sensible solution that Arizonans can back immediately. Ultimately, Arizona voters will decide on the ballot in November.
In 2022, Lake endorsed the ban:

Kari Lake and Democratic Rep. Reuben Gallego are vying for a seat in an election that could determine Senate control. Republicans seem to have settled on a strategy for talking about abortion bans. They plan to deceive voters and pretend that they no longer support a complete ban on abortions.
Republicans like Kari Lake are not being honest with voters about their stance on abortion bans, so it's crucial for Democrats to ensure that voters don't believe a lie that could jeopardize their freedom.
