The former Governor of Ekiti State and ex-Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Kayode Fayemi, has urged for unity, kindness, and generosity as Nigerian Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by Ahmad Sajoh, the Head of his Media Office, in Abuja, Fayemi conveyed warm wishes to the Nigerian Muslim community, stressing that the Eid-el-Fitr celebration represents the essence of togetherness, kindness, and generosity.
“During Ramadan, Muslims worldwide displayed discipline, devotion, and resilience in fulfilling their religious duties. This commitment to faith serves as an inspiration and proof of the resilience of the human spirit,” Fayemi expressed.
Fayemi highlighted that the Eid-el-Fitr celebration is not only a time to celebrate the blessings of God but also an opportunity to ponder on the teachings of Ramadan and strengthen the connections of togetherness, affection, and brotherhood among all Nigerians, irrespective of religious or ethnic variances.
“As we celebrate this occasion, let us remember those who are less fortunate and offer them generosity and kindness.
“Let us also recommit ourselves to the principles of peace, tolerance, and understanding,” he stated.
