The Founder, Muslims’ In Light Organisation, Sufi Centre Nigeria, Dr Rasheed Akinbile, has praised Muslims across the country for finishing the Ramadan fast, starting the Eid-al-Fitr celebration.
He also urged Muslims to display self-control, kindness, and honesty as instructed during Ramadan.
Akinbile shared this message during his Sunday lecture series at the City Zawiah, Sufi Centre, Ibadan, emphasizing it during his Eid-al-Fitr message.
In a statement sent to PUNCH Online Tuesday, Akinbile, the convener of the first interfaith conference in Nigeria said, “Almighty Allah (SWT) would accept their sacrifices as true act of (Ibadah) worship and keep them all alive and healthy to witness many more, while admonishing Muslims to make the remaining months of the year joyful by continuing in the way of love and kindness with community service as it was done in all days during the Ramadan fast.”
He said, “I congratulate Muslims faithful in Oyo State and around the world for witnessing Eid-al-Fitr celebration, we give gratitude and thanks to Almighty Allah (SWT), who has made this possible.
“Eid period is a moment to give gratitude and keep the lessons learnt in the month of Ramadan by caring for each other and sharing what we have with all and sundry to overcome the difficulties of this transition period that our country is experiencing.
“Though Ramadan has gone, we also have to keep the lessons learnt in Ramadan alive in our day-to-day interactions by living together with other people harmoniously because it is in togetherness that we can make Nigeria peaceful and prosperous.
“It is in doing this that we all can bring about a nation of our dreams.”
