According to police, a report of a disturbance at a Winnipeg coffee shop resulted in the arrest of a man who now faces several charges.
At 5:40 p.m. on Monday, officers were called to the Beaverhill Boulevard shop due to reports of a drunk man causing trouble.
The suspect was arrested without trouble when he was seen nearby, but police also noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area.
The vehicle, a 2023 Chrysler Pacifica, had been stolen from a Pembina Highway car rental, and the man had been driving recklessly in the Southdale area before arriving at the coffee shop.
A CO2-powered handgun was found during a search of the stolen car.
The 21-year-old man is now in custody and faces various charges, including weapon possession, carrying a hidden or prohibited weapon, possessing stolen property, and multiple counts of failing to meet conditions.
