Cyriel Dessers says Rangers can win at Celtic Park after the "mental boost" of their comeback draw.
The race for the title is likely to be very close as neither team was able to take the lead in Sunday’s game at Ibrox. The teams ended in a draw with six goals. Rangers were not good in the first half and were two goals behind before coming back in the second half. They had to recover a second time with Rabbi Matondo’s late goal.
Dessers had a goal disallowed for a foul but believes he and his teammates can take a lot of encouragement from being able to score three goals against the champions and from the fighting spirit they showed in coming back to earn a point after looking like they would lose at half-time.
The Nigerian striker believes there isn't much difference between the teams and if luck is on their side, Gers can earn a potentially title-deciding win at their rivals' home after the split.
He stated, "Yes, definitely. We showed on Sunday that we can score three goals against a good team. And even in the previous two games, we lost, but I don’t think we deserved to lose completely.
"We showed we can harm them and if we're a little luckier, like with their first goal on Sunday, and then we can seize our moments, then we can get a good win there. It's very close. I think we saw that quality-wise we are also very close to each other. But, yeah, I hope after Wednesday that I can say that we are on top of the league.
“With the result and performance on Sunday, especially in the second half, I think that will give us a mental boost too. So I hope we are slightly ahead.
Rangers are scheduled to play Dundee in their postponed game this midweek and Dessers is aiming to take three points that would put them at the top of the league.
He said: "I think it's clear that this will give us a huge boost. Hopefully we can win the postponed game and then we go on top.
"That's what we want. It's close, everyone could see that on Sunday. So we will have to be ready from now until the last game. But I think we are.
