Soldiers in the Nigerian Army stopped and prevented a kidnapping on the busy Nasarawa-Kefi Road on Thursday.
The people who were believed to have kidnapped attacked the person and took him away.
But when people in the area asked for help, the soldiers went on a mission to rescue the person along that road.
According to a statement by the Nigerian Army on Friday on its X handle, the soldiers quickly came and stopped the person from being taken.
The post said, 'Soldiers in the Nigerian Army answered a call for help and stopped an attempt to kidnap someone along Nasarawa- Keffi Road close to the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa State and saved the person.
The soldiers did the rescue operation on Thursday, April 4, 2024, while doing a usual patrol along Nasarawa- Keffi Road in the Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The criminals tried to take the person without him knowing, but the soldiers who were quickly told by careful people in the neighborhood acted fast and stopped the situation, saving the person.
The Army also said one of the suspected kidnappers was arrested after he got shot during a gun fight with the soldiers.
The post also said, 'The soldiers also caught one of the kidnappers, who got hurt in a fight with the criminals. The hurt suspect and the person who was saved but also got minor injuries during the stopped kidnapping have been taken to a hospital for medical help.
The PUNCH says that soldiers saved at least 1,241 kidnapped people in different missions done all over the country from January to March 2024.
