Mama Ena Maud Alabi, who is the mother of Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi, has passed away.
Rafiu Ajakaye, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, announced Mama Ena Maud Alabi’s passing in a statement from the Government House on Friday.
According to the statement, the deputy governor's mother died early Friday at the age of 98.
The statement mentioned that Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has joined Mr Kayode Alabi's family in mourning the passing of his mother.
The statement described Mama Ena Maud Alabi as a Jamaican by birth and Nigerian by citizenship and marriage. It noted that she passed away in the early hours of Friday, April 5, 2024, at the age of 98.
The statement also highlighted that she had retired as a senior matron at Maternity Health Center, Amilegbe, Ilorin, in 1980, concluding decades of valuable professional service as a health worker and caregiver.
