Some roads in Luzerne County and nearby areas are shut down due to heavy rain on Wednesday.
Wright Twp. Road Closures
The Wright Twp. police department posted a list of road closures in Mountain Top on its Facebook page.
There is a closure at the bridge at Nuangola Road on South Main Road because of a tree on wires. No traffic can pass through at the moment.
PPL is actively working to open it.
A tree down on wires is blocking South Main Road at Larchmount Way near the Wright Twp. Fire Hall. The road is also closed and is marked by traffic cones.
Drivers can use Larchmount Way to bypass the closure.
One lane of Church Road just west of SR 309 near South Mountain Veterinary Hospital is closed due to a tree on wires. The eastbound Lane is closed off by cones.

When driving through a work zone, PennDOT advises drivers to follow the posted speed limit, turn on headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers, and avoid distractions.
In busy locations, drivers are advised to use both lanes and take turns merging into the open lane.
