A strike that lasted for multiple weeks at a shipping facility close to Halifax has ended after members of the union approved a three-year collective agreement.
More than 230 workers who are part of a union at CN Autoport facility in Eastern Passage, N.S., went on strike in late February.
Unifor reports that the agreement includes yearly salary increases and one-time bonuses in the first two years.
It also includes an extra paid personal day and enhancements to vacation, retirement plans, and the cost of benefits.
A potential agreement was declared on Tuesday night, and union members cast their votes on Wednesday.
Autoport, a wholly owned subsidiary of CN Rail, is identified by Unifor as one of the busiest facilities in North America for this type of work, handling nearly 185,000 vehicles annually.
