Nova Scotia is expected to get a lot of snow earlier this spring, according to Environment Canada.
The forecaster issued a special weather statement saying that snow is expected Wednesday overnight and continuing through Friday morning. In Cape Breton, the snow is expected to begin later on Thursday.
During this multi-day snowfall, there could be 10 to 20 centimetres of snow, possibly even more in Cape Breton.
In western Nova Scotia, there may be a mix of rain and snow at times Thursday night.
The snow is likely to be very wet and heavy, along with strong easterly winds, which could cause tree branches to break and power outages.
Thursday's commutes are expected to be impacted by this weather system.
Environment Canada mentioned the possibility of issuing snowfall warnings.
