Donald Trump spent most of Easter Sunday on social media, posting many angry messages in capital letters. Seth Meyers wondered if the troubled former president had drugs in his Easter basket.
MSNBC reported that Trump posted over 70 times on Easter, mainly targeting those involved in his many legal trials. Before discussing the content of the posts, Meyers was amazed at the high volume of posts.
Meyers joked, 'He posted 70 times on Easter! What’s in the Easter baskets at the Trump family easter egg hunt, Cadbury meth eggs?'.
Later, the “Late Night” host read one of Trump’s posts, not making it past the first sentence before saying “Oh, f— me” in frustration.
Meyers joked, 'The worst part? Stole that from a Hallmark card', after finally reading through the whole post.
The host then read another post, this time a fake one. Still, Meyers was confident that the audience would take a few sentences to realize it wasn’t real, given the unhinged nature of past Trump posts.
Meyers said with a laugh, 'That Easter rant may be the most deranged thing Trump has ever posted online, which is saying something, because he once misspelled his own name. Just put yourself in a place where a friend or loved one sent you a text like this. Would you immediately alert your entire family and urge them to seek help? Or would you write back and say ‘You’ve got my vote in November!'?
