A 12-year-old student has been taken into custody for shooting at a school in Finland.
During the shooting, one student died, and two others were seriously hurt, according to the Finnish police. The Finnish police made a statement about the incident.All the victims were also 12 years old.
The shooting happened at the Viertola school in Vantaa, which is near the capital city of Helsinki. The elementary school has about 800 students from Grade 1 to Grade 9. 800 students go to the Viertola school in Vantaa.The school offers classes from Grade 1 to Grade 9.
Police were called to the school at 9:08 a.m. because of reports of shots being fired. The suspect had already run away by the time the police arrived.
At around 10 a.m., the police caught the child not far from the school in Siltamäki, a part of Helsinki.

The police say that the student still had a gun but was arrested without violence.
The 12-year-old admitted to the shooting in an initial interview with the police.

According to the Associated Press, the 12-year-old cannot be formally arrested due to Finland’s minimum age of criminal liability being 15. Suspects under 15 are only questioned by police and then handed over to Finland’s child welfare authorities.
