Members of the Missouri State General Assembly in the United States have greeted Muritala Ayinla, a Nigerian recipient of the Rotary International Scholarship at the University of Central Missouri.
They also reaffirmed their dedication to education in their local areas.
On Monday, a statement highlighted that the lawmakers lauded the positive impression of the United States held by Ayinla and other young people from their experiences in the country.
Senator Rick Brattin, representing Missouri’s 31st Senatorial District, expressed his pleasure at Ayinla’s positive view of the US during a meeting at the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City.
Senator Brattin stated, “I am extremely proud of you and thrilled to hear about your positive perceptions of the United States.”
He underscored the Missouri State legislature's dedication to enhancing democracy through its legislative functions.
Representative Dan Houx, who represents Johnson County District 54 in the Missouri House of Representatives, commended the University of Central Missouri and Rotary International for providing scholarships to international students.
He also praised the former Missouri Senator, David Pearce, for his valuable contributions to the legislative chamber.
Brenda Shields, Chairman of the Higher Education Committee in the Missouri House of Representatives, reaffirmed Missouri’s commitment to providing top-notch educational opportunities for all children in the state.
She also praised the University of Central Missouri for its advancements in education. Representatives Kemp Strickler of District 34 in Jackson County and Kelvin Windham of District 74 in St. Louis County welcomed Ayinla to the Capitol, highlighting the legislature’s efforts to enhance educational opportunities for everyone.
