Reports indicate that two individuals lost their lives and two others were injured in a clash between communities in Ajetachi, near North Bank area, a suburb of Makurdi, the capital of Benue State.
Many houses were burned down during the event, which, according to witnesses, began late on Sunday and lasted until Easter Monday.
According to an observer named Nura Umah, the conflict involved Jukun and Tiv youths.

During the conflict, two individuals were killed, including an okada rider and a man selling leather goods.
The two deceased individuals were buried on Monday. According to Umar, the Jukuns were attacked by Tiv people while they were in church, resulting in two individuals being shot and subsequently receiving medical treatment.
Efforts to contact the Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina, were unsuccessful as his phone went unanswered.
