According to Channels TV, some students were kidnapped by unidentified gunmen along the East-West Road in Ughelli, Delta State, on Monday evening.
They were apparently in a minibus when they were kidnapped.
Edafe Bright, the state Police Public Relations Officer, informed Channels that the abducted individuals “might have been students who were coming back from their school in Calabar, Cross River State on Friday night.”
The bus driver was reportedly unharmed, and the kidnappers had not yet asked for money, while police officers had taken action.
“The command is aware of this unfortunate incident, and we are doing everything necessary to ensure that they are rescued unharmed,” the state PPRO tweeted on his X handle Monday night.
