Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid was chosen as the NHL’s top player of the week on Monday after scoring eight points in three games last week.
McDavid scored three goals and provided five assists during this time, contributing to the Oilers' three consecutive wins.
By Monday, the five-time Art Ross Trophy winner had accumulated 125 points (29-96) this season, ranking third in the NHL. Nathan MacKinnon of Colorado leads with 127 points (47-80).
Logan Thompson, the goaltender for the Vegas Golden Knights, was named the second best player, and Alexis Lafreniere, a forward for the New York Rangers, was awarded the third place.
Thompson achieved three wins and made 102 saves in three starts, with a 0.98 goals-against average and .971 save percentage.
Lafreniere led all NHL players with five goals last week, in addition to two assists.
