The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has praised the Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, for the “monumental” accomplishment of the airline’s first successful flight from Lagos to London on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
The governor, in his congratulatory statement, highlighted that Air Peace’s historic flight, which carried 260 passengers on a 274-seat capacity Boeing 777, signified a significant achievement for Nigeria’s aviation industry.
Soludo conveyed this in a release issued by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, on Saturday.
He mentioned that the reinstatement of flights by a local carrier on one of Nigeria’s most profitable routes since 2019 is an important event deserving celebration.
The statement mentioned, “In addition to commending Onyema, a distinguished individual from Anambra State, for his outstanding business acumen and relentless pursuit of excellence, Soludo expressed satisfaction that the new success confirms Air Peace’s position as one of the most prosperous private airlines in Nigeria and highlights Onyema’s role as a pioneer in the aviation industry.
“As a result, the governor hopes for Onyema to achieve many more milestones as he continues to uphold a standard of excellence for Nigeria, reinforcing the belief that a new Nigeria is feasible when local businesses like Air Peace are guided by forward-thinkers and benefit from a supportive environment provided by the government.”
