Three individuals in their 20s have died in a two-vehicle collision early on Sunday morning in Moncton.
In a press release, the New Brunswick RCMP said emergency workers were called to a head-on collision between a car and SUV at a traffic circle in Moncton around 1:30 a.m.
Police mentioned in a statement that the crash likely happened when the eastbound car entered the traffic circle going westbound and collided head-on with the SUV.
The car's driver and two passengers—a 20-year-old woman, a 23-year-old man, and a 24-year-old man—died at the scene. All three were from the Bathurst area.
Authorities said a fourth individual in the car was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

There were four people in the SUV. They all received treatment for minor injuries at the scene.
The eastbound lane of Wheeler Boulevard, where the crash took place, was shut down for several hours after the incident but has since reopened.
