A British Columbia resident stated that her brother was killed in a suspected murder-suicide in the Okanagan earlier this week. Kelowna police have stated that they are looking into a homicide.
Jacqueline Kofoed shared on social media that Jeremy Kofoed was fatally shot at Adventure Trucks on Adams Road on Wednesday, March 27.
“This happened after an argument between Jeremy and someone he knew escalated into violence,” Jacqueline Kofoed wrote.
“After Jeremy was shot, it seems the person then started a fire in the building and took his own life.”
Adventure Trucks is a small business that specializes in modifying vehicles for off-road and outdoor activities.
The media questioned the police about the incident on Thursday, but RCMP declined to give details.
“Right now, we are not confirming anything. We cannot provide details until the officers investigate and piece together what happened,” said Cpl. Michael Gauthier at the time.
“At this point, it is only speculation. So until they investigate and gather evidence, we cannot confirm or provide anything.”

This changed on Saturday when Jacqueline Kofoed's comments were made public.
At 12:30 p.m., Kelowna police stated that they have completed their examination of the area “following a killing.”
Authorities said they were summoned to the 100 block of Adams Roads on Wednesday afternoon after receiving a report of gunfire, followed by a fire.
“When the police entered the business, they found two deceased individuals,” stated the police.
“This is an isolated incident and the public is not at risk.”
Police indicate that Kelowna’s Serious Crimes Unit is leading the investigation and will be collaborating with the BC Coroners Service to establish the causes of death.
Anyone with information about this inquiry should contact the Kelowna police at 250-762-3300 and reference file 2024-15930.
The Kofoed family is well-known in the area. Four years ago, they donated $60,000 to Okanagan College’s health sciences center.
