The Rivers State House of Assembly announced on Saturday that it is ready to impeach the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, if necessary to uphold the Constitution.
This is as the 27 lawmakers loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, criticized the former Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council led by Dr Abiye Sekibo for its recent attack on Wike.
Speaker of the House, Martin Amaewhule, made this statement at a media briefing in Port Harcourt on Saturday, while 26 of his colleagues stood beside him.
