I am expressing my sincere thanks to the Luzerne County manager and her team for their outstanding work in organizing a ceremony to honor the late Judge Jim Haggerty. Jim was an extraordinary person who spent his life helping his community, leaving a strong impression on those who were fortunate enough to know him.
As the previous mayor of Kingston and head of the first home rule study commission, Jim worked tirelessly to enhance the lives of others and improve his community for everyone. His contributions and selfless commitment to public service have impacted the lives of thousands, and his legacy will endure for many generations to come.
The ceremony at the courthouse was a fitting tribute to Jim’s life and accomplishments. The event was flawlessly organized, allowing attendees to show their respect and honor the memory of an exceptional man and civic leader in a respectful manner.
I also want to thank Jim’s family, friends, and Kingston officials for their dedicated work in remembering and honoring Jim. Their efforts to ensure that his legacy endures are truly admirable and demonstrate the impact he had on those around him.
Jim Haggerty’s contributions to Luzerne County and Kingston Borough will always be remembered and treasured. Thank you to everyone involved in arranging and participating in the viewing ceremony to honor an extraordinary individual who made a difference in the lives of many.
