The head of the Maritime Police Command in Lagos, AIG Olofu Rhoda Adetutu, has ordered increased security for the country's rivers, lakes, ports, harbors, and the overall maritime area during and after Easter.
The AIG announced this on Thursday evening in her speech to the Management Team, and the officers and men under her supervision in preparation for the Easter holiday.
This information was included in a statement signed by the Acting Public Relations Officer for the AIG, ASP Ehinmode Rowland.
She instructed officers to show high professionalism and discipline in their work while ensuring that there are no security breaches in their areas of responsibility.
“AIG Olofu Rhoda advocated for dedication, commitment, unwavering loyalty and resilience from every personnel of the Command in the course of performing their duties, while encouraging them to shun corruption, build team spirit and be professional in their conducts,” the statement read.
The Federal Government had declared today Friday, March 29 and Monday, April 1, 2024 as public holidays to mark the 2024 Good Friday and Easter Monday celebrations respectively.
