Leslie Jones made an appearance on “The Daily Show” to emphasize that Donald Trump was a bad president and urge the country not to make a foolish decision.
Jones questioned the idea of bringing back a man who attempted to overthrow the government, likening it to letting Jeffrey Epstein or a pedophile priest care for children, or allowing the former Nickelodeon employee, Dan Schneider, to do so.
The comment referred to Dan Schneider, a former Nickelodeon executive accused of inappropriate behavior towards young actors and fostering a toxic work environment, especially highlighted in the recent docuseries, “Quiet on Set.” Jones suggested that it might be better to have no one watch the kids.
She then acknowledged that some people may not be concerned about the events of Jan. 6, before bringing attention to the many controversial decisions made by Trump as president, such as proposing to use nuclear weapons on a hurricane and suggesting bleach injections for COVID-19.
Jones highlighted how they sought guidance from Trump, only to receive harmful advice.
After listing instances where Americans opt for the simpler, less wise choice, Jones proposed a solution: to make the effort to not make the obvious foolish decision, to get involved in politics, and not be complacent despite being unsatisfied with the available options.
Jones encouraged taking a more thoughtful approach for this election, rather than opting for the obviously unwise choice, suggesting that people need to actively participate in the political process, even if they are not enamored with the candidates.
This is different from Jones’ previous appearances on “The Daily Show,” where she emphasized Trump's shortcomings as president.
Jones, a former host of the series, made a return to stress Trump's inadequacy as president.
