The police in Akwa Ibom State have sent 2,313 officers to increase security around different places of worship and fun areas for Easter.
CP Waheed Ayilara, the state's Commissioner of Police, revealed this in a statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, on Friday.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Waheed Ayilara, extended Easter wishes to the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State in a statement for the 2024 Easter celebration.
“The CP thanked God for the peace in the state and applauded the development efforts of Pastor Umo Bassey Eno.
He specifically prayed for peace and progress in Akwa Ibom State and urged the people to remain dedicated to the state's peace, unity, and progress.
In a bid to provide excellent security before, during, and after Easter, 2,313 officers and men have been deployed to key locations such as worship centres, motor parks, and amusement centres.
“The CP is aware of the criminal activities and warned them that there will be no safe haven for them.”
