The son of two individuals discovered deceased in their St. Catharines, Ontario residence on Monday is being charged with two counts of first-degree murder, as stated by law enforcement.
The Niagara Regional Police (NRPS) reported that the 43-year-old was taken into custody and charged on Thursday and is scheduled to appear before a judge on Friday.
Detectives investigating homicides stated that the couple who passed away were found at a home on Elma Street, close to Scott and Dorothy Streets on March 25, shortly after midday.
With approval from their family, NRPS disclosed that the two individuals, aged 75, were Celine-Marie Owens and Harold Owens.
According to law enforcement, Sean Owens of St. Catharines is being accused of the double homicide.
The circumstances surrounding the nature of the event are still being looked into.
