The head of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ahmed Audi, has sent 35,000 staff across the country to make sure Easter celebration goes well without any problems.
According to a statement by the Corps spokesperson, Babawale Afolabi, on Thursday, the deployment of 35,000 personnel including officers and men is intended to ensure tight security before, during, and after the festivities, in order to protect lives, property, critical national assets, and infrastructure.
The CG instructed the Anti-Vandal Unit, Special Intelligence Squad, Transport and Mining Marshals, Special Female Squad, Special Force, Special Weapon and Tactics, Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation, Crack Squad, and Rapid Response Squad, among others, to maintain continuous surveillance as outlined in the operational order.
“While the deployment aims to achieve maximum security through both obvious and secret operations, the CG emphasizes the need to properly protect oil installations, railway tracks, power and telecommunications facilities, schools, and recreational facilities through surveillance.
“The public is also urged to provide useful and timely information about suspected activities and individuals for prompt and appropriate response,” the statement added.
