The legislator who represents the Ajeromi/Ifelodun Constituency in Lagos in the House of Representatives, Kalejaiye Paul, has encouraged Nigerians to remain patient, strong, and optimistic, with a belief in a better Nigeria.
The legislator stated that the government is paying attention to the desires of the people and creating policies that will benefit them.
As per a statement obtained on Thursday, Kalejaiye, who spoke during the Ramadan Lecture/Prayer organized for the people of Ajeromi/Ifelodun with the theme “Message of Hope,” advised Nigerians, both the leadership and the followers, to consistently do the right thing, show love for one another, unite in love, and demonstrate tolerance during Ramadan/Lent fasting and beyond.
He mentioned, “The government is responsively listening to the desires of the people, making policy directions that will favor the masses. Nigerians should be aware that 2024 is a year of joy as importation of petroleum products will stop this year.”
When delivering the Ramadan Lecture, the Chief Imam of Ajegunle Central Mosque, Alhaji Shuaib Bamidele, emphasized that everyone must work with determination to do the right thing for authentic positive change to occur in the country.
Regarding this, the special guest, chairman of Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Kamal Bayewu, encouraged Nigerians to stay dedicated and hopeful in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Protests have taken place in some states due to the current difficulties, increasing inflation, and high living costs following the removal of fuel subsidy and the floating of the naira by the President Bola Tinubu-led administration.
As the economic difficulties persist in the country, many Nigerians have been flocking to palliative distribution centers established by government officials and other stakeholders to alleviate the impact of the hardships.
