Claire Danes is set to star in and also be an executive producer for “The Beast in Me,” a new mystery thriller for Netflix. She will once again be collaborating with “Homeland” EP Howard Gordon, who is the show's executive producer.
The show's synopsis states, “After her young son's tragic death, well-known author Aggie Wiggs has withdrawn from public life and has been unable to write, becoming a shadow of her former self. However, when the house next door is purchased by Nile Sheldon, a renowned and formidable real estate mogul who was once the main suspect in his wife’s disappearance, she finds an unexpected subject for a new book.”
It goes on to say, “Both repulsed and captivated by this man, Aggie embarks on a compulsive quest for the truth – pursuing his inner demons while escaping from her own – in a dangerous game of pursuit that could become lethal.”
The limited series is produced by creator and writer Gabe Rotter (“The X-Files”) and showrunner Gordon (“Homeland,” “24,” “The X-Files”). Additional executive producers include Daniel Pearle (“American Crime Story”), Conan O’Brien, Jeff Ross, and David Kissinger for Conaco, as well as Jodie Foster.

Apart from “Homeland,” “24,” and “The X-Files,” Gordon also has credits for “Beauty and the Beast,” the Fox drama “Accused,” and the FX series “Tyrant.” Gordon has won three Emmy Awards, including for Best Writing for a Drama Series on “Homeland” with his co-creators Alex Gansa and Gideon Raff.
