ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Toronto Blue Jays begin their 2024 Major League Baseball season today with an away game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Toronto’s Jose Berrios pitches against Tampa Bay’s Zach Eflin in St. Petersburg, Fla., as the Blue Jays aim to fulfill their potential this season.
Last year, the Blue Jays had a record of 89-73 and were swept by the Minnesota Twins in the wild-card round, managing to score only one run in two games.
Despite the offensive roster’s shortcomings, Toronto is keeping the same core and hoping the bats improve.
The Blue Jays have four games in St. Petersburg, three in Houston, and three in New York against the Yankees to start the season.
Toronto’s first home game is on April 8th against Seattle.
