London, Ontario, police have stated that the Special Investigations Unit has been involved because a 17-year-old was taken to the hospital following his arrest on Wednesday afternoon.
The police mentioned on Thursday that he was taken to the hospital as a precaution and has since been released.
According to the police, they were responding to an assault investigation in the western part of the city around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday and discovered the suspect outside a residence with a weapon.
After an exchange between the police and the suspect, the police used a blunt impact projectile, also known as a less-lethal firearm.
The police stated that the teenager kept resisting arrest, so the officers then used a conducted energy weapon on him and eventually took him into custody.
