A man from White Haven confessed to having an addiction to viewing child sexual abuse materials, as stated in court records.
Shawn Kenneth Sullenberger, 45, of Main Street, was arrested by Luzerne County detectives as they looked into three Cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tips were about videos connected to a phone registered to Sullenberger, according to court records.
Detectives from the county’s district attorney’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Special Victims Unit, along with members of the State Police Northeast Computer Crime Unit, executed a search warrant at Sullenberger’s home.
Sullenberger agreed to be interviewed, as per court records.
During the interview, Sullenberger stated that he used to have a drug addiction and switched to viewing child sexual abuse materials, as per court records.
According to court records, Sullenberger admitted to viewing child sexual abuse materials for seven years for his own pleasure.
District Judge Alexandra Kokura Kravitz of Pittston arraigned Sullenberger on eight counts of child pornography and a single count of criminal use of communication facility. He was released on $50,000 unsecured bail.
