The province says its inspectors are still closely monitoring a damaged pipeline south of St. Adolphe, Man., and the potential impact it could have on Manitobans at the gas stations.
Imperial Oil has informed the province that repairs, which are expected to take three months, are on track. The pipeline, which transports gas, diesel and jet fuel to the Winnipeg area, was closed on March 15 after concerns about its integrity were noticed during a routine inspection.
The province mentioned on Wednesday that efforts are underway to enhance the offloading capacity at Winnipeg fuel terminals, and that this enhancement has already been completed at Gretna, with the aim of increasing the amount of fuel that can be transferred from rail to truck.
