Police have pressed charges against two individuals after officers found and confiscated about 1,700 grams of methamphetamine, 28,000 illegal cigarettes, five guns, bullets, and other tools for selling drugs.
According to a statement, the Battlefords Gang Task Force conducted two search warrants after a probe into drug selling in North Battleford on March 24 at a unit in a multi-apartment building and one at a home.
“A man and a woman were arrested during the search warrants,” the police said. “Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team helped in this probe.”
Authorities accused Shara Swindler, 44, of various charges including possession for drug selling and three counts of a banned gun with bullets.
The second person charged is 47-year-old Sheldon Johnstone, who is accused of carrying a hidden weapon, having a weapon for dangerous purposes, and obstructing a police officer.
The accused individuals, Swindler and Johnstone, both from North Battleford, will go to provincial court on May 27.
