Vancouver police are on the lookout for a man who is alleged to have attempted to persuade a teenage boy to perform sexual acts near an East SkyTrain station on Friday. Vancouver SkyTrain station on Friday.
The incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. on March 22 near the 29th Avenue Station.
In a press release, authorities stated that the suspect approached the 13-year-old victim near Duchess Street and Euclid Avenue and inquired about his residence.
Investigators stated that the teenager ignored the man, but he persisted and started asking for sexual activities.
“This must have been a frightening and disturbing experience for the teenager, who was just walking home when he was approached by a man who made him feel unsafe,” said Constable Tania Visintin.
“The teen did the right thing by promptly going to a safe place and reporting the incident to a trusted adult.”
The boy informed his parents about the incident, and they contacted the police.
Law enforcement is seeking a man between 20 and 30 years old, approximately five-feet-eight-inches tall, with a slender build, short dark hair, and a moustache.
Police stated that he was carrying a blue umbrella and spoke with a South Asian accent.
