Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) wants a thorough investigation to determine if the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge was a deliberate act or an accident.
Greene posted, “There should be a serious investigation into the horrifying tragedy of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Maryland. Is this an intentional attack or an accident? Praying for the victims, survivors, and families 🙏”
A thorough investigation has already begun. The Secretary of Transportation, the Coast Guard, federal law enforcement, and transportation safety officials are on the scene.
If Rep. Greene meant a House Republican investigation by a thorough investigation, then it would not be possible because House Republicans have shown themselves to be unserious people.
There is no cover-up. The cargo ship sent a distress signal and warned officials that they were having mechanical issues. This allowed the bridge to be closed so that more people were not harmed. Terrorists do not alert in advance to save lives.
When an accident occurs or disaster strikes, the nation needs responsible individuals in charge.
Rep. Greene is not a responsible person. Conspiracy theories are not governing, and Greene's post is venturing into conspiracy theory territory.
In Trump’s party, conspiracy theories are considered part of governing, and questioning basic facts is another way to undermine trust in government.
