Piikani RCMP officials reported that a 47-year-old woman from Red Deer was killed in a collision near Brockett.
Authorities were informed of a serious car crash on Highway 3 to the west of Fort Macleod at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Officers from the Piikani Nation, Pincher Creek, and Fort Macleod RCMP detachments all went to the scene.
Upon arrival, they found a car had crashed into a semi truck.
The woman who was driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The semi truck driver sustained minor injuries.
The RCMP collision reconstruction team was called in to help with the investigation.
The cause of the fatal crash is not yet known.
