Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, refutes media reports claiming his administration set aside N6bn for the Ramadan Feeding Programme.
The governor shared his stance in a statement via his X handle on Sunday.
He stated, “Recently, there has been a lot of media speculation about our government supposedly setting aside N6bn for the Ramadan Feeding Programme.
“I want to make it clear that the actual amount allocated for the programme is N1.97bn for the entire month.
“I also urge the media to verify their information regarding our projects from reliable sources instead of giving attention to speculative numbers.”
On Friday, the governor expressed his dismay about the current state of the feeding programme in the Kano metropolis.
He conveyed his disappointment during an impromptu inspection of a feeding centre in Gidan Maza, Municipal Local Government Area.
Yusuf criticized the program handlers for what he saw as their failure to adequately serve the intended beneficiaries.
