NBC News's newest employee, Ronna McDaniel, supported her participation in the fabricated elector scheme and asserted her belief in irregularities in the 2020 election.
During her appearance on Meet The Press, McDaniel portrayed the Republicans who tried to reverse the 2020 election results in Michigan as the true victims.
During an interview on Meet The Press, Ronna McDaniel was questioned about pressuring Michigan election officials to not certify Joe Biden's 2020 win, and if she regretted her role in doing so.
McDaniel responded, "I regret that individuals are being threatened for carrying out their responsibilities in this country. I think it's wrong to ask for a simple audit and then face threats to your family and livelihood, and be labelled as racist. Look at the transcripts, we cannot have one standard for Democrat election workers and another for Republican."
When Kristen Welker asked, "But ultimately, there were 250 audits. They never found any corruption. Did you, as the RNC chair, not have a responsibility to declare before January 6th that the election was not rigged and that Donald Trump lost, given the more than 60 court cases across the country in which Donald Trump lost?"
McDaniel claimed that problems existed in the 2020 election, "The fact is Joe Biden won. He is the president, the legitimate president. I have always claimed and continue to claim that there were issues in 2020. I believe that both can be true. You can say substantial changes in laws occurred."

What Welker did not inquire about was McDaniel's statement to the 1/6 Committee that she and the RNC provided data collection and assistance for Trump's attempts to overturn the election.
It's evident that NBC News attempted to mitigate the situation. NBC News tried to downplay McDaniel's involvement in Trump's assault on democracy.
Even though NBC News backed away from featuring McDaniel on MSNBC,it is apparent that the network achieved its goal. Ronna McDaniel appeared on Meet The Press and upheld Trump's falsehoods while defending the use of RNC donor funds to cover Trump's legal expenses.
NBC News is compensating and offering a national platform to Ronna McDaniel to undermine trust in democracy.
