Jimmy Kimmel gave some straightforward advice to potential running mates of Donald Trump: Don't.
Kimmel stated that Donald Trump is only good at ruining the lives of the people who work with him.

“Trump is now looking for a running mate to join him,” Kimmel said as he got to the topic in his monologue. “They say he’s now considering 15 candidates, with the idea that these people will audition at his rallies and campaign events. Kimmel mentioned Trump's search for a running mate, and how the candidates will undergo auditions at his rallies and campaign events.
Kimmel joked about Trump's selection process for Vice President, including some individuals as finalists and humorously referencing Ben Carson, who is not alive.

“Trump also considering Florida Senator Marco Rubio as his campaign partner,” Kimmel said, before noting how awkward this would be due to how many times Trump has insulted Rubio.
Kimmel jokingly compared the potential team of Donald Trump and Marco Rubio to David vs. Goliath, and mentioned Rubio's willingness to be offered the VP slot.
Kimmel suggested that those vying for the VP slot might be deluding themselves and advised them to decline Trump's offer.
Kimmel cautioned against thinking that Donald Trump can be controlled or influenced, referencing past individuals who failed in the attempt.
Kimmel again emphasized Trump's talent for destroying the people around him.
Kimmel urged potential running mates to run if Trump asks them to join him, using a playful analogy.
