The New York Jets have focused on a quarterback prospect for the 2024 NFL draft.
According to Logan B. Robinson of Nole Gameday, the team plans to meet with former Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis.
“What is a top-30 visit? Leading up to the draft, all 32 NFL teams can bring 30 players for private meetings at their facilities. A team’s top-30 visit list is for exclusive players the team wants to draft,” Ryan Taylor of Yahoo Sports explained.
Jets Player Supports the Visit
Jordan Travis has numerous records at his former school.
According to the University website, Travis, “holds FSU career records for touchdown responsibility, total offense, quarterback rushing yards, and quarterback rushing touchdown. [He is the] only player in FSU history with more than 50 passing touchdowns and at least 12 rushing touchdowns. [Travis is the] only player in program history with three different streaks of at least 120 passes without an interception. [He is the] only player ranked in [the] top-10 on FSU’s career passing touchdowns and rushing touchdowns lists. [Finally he] accounted for [a] school-record 97 total touchdowns and 10,554 yards of total offense.”
Jets defensive lineman and former FSU teammate of Travis, Jermaine Johnson, responded to the reported visit on social media with a pair of eyes emoji.

The Jets have their top two quarterbacks already. Aaron Rodgers will start and Tyrod Taylor will be the backup.
Zach Wilson is still on the roster, but is not expected to stay for the upcoming season. Therefore, the team has two older quarterbacks and no long-term solution on the roster.
Why Jordan Travis Could Be the Ideal Quarterback Prospect for the Jets
Travis had an outstanding season for the Seminoles in 2023 before getting injured. He had a 20:2 touchdown to interception ratio, completed 63.9% of his passes, and threw for 2,756 passing yards. Aside from his passing skills, Travis also excelled in the running game. He is the only player in program history to achieve 7 rushing touchdowns in four consecutive seasons. Over six seasons, he accumulated 1,950 rushing yards. The former FSU player is 23 years old and will turn 24 before the 2024 season begins.
Travis would have been drafted earlier if he hadn’t suffered a
injury in his final college season. This could give the Jets an opportunity to get a steal at the quarterback position.
According to the people at broken leg NFL Draft Buzz
, Travis is seen as a “third-round pick.” New York has the No, 72 overall pick in the third round of April’s draft. This might be a bit high for the Jets for a third-string quarterback, but he could be considered with one of their two fourth-round picks.New York doesn’t need a starter or backup for 2024. If they pick him, Travis could continue his rehab as a third-string quarterback. The Jets would have the luxury of allowing the talented quarterback to have a developmental year in the NFL.
