For her upcoming FX on Hulu limited series 'The Veil,' Elisabeth Moss is taking on new roles: an action star, kicking butt, and adopting an English accent.
In the trailer for 'The Veil' released on Thursday morning, Elisabeth Moss skillfully excels in action and her accent is mostly believable. (We're joking, of course.)
In the spy thriller series premiering on April 30, Moss plays Imogen Salter, a seasoned MI6 agent skilled at going undercover. She has to accompany a seemingly vulnerable woman (Yumna Marwan) from Istanbul to London and engage in a dangerous game of deception and truth along the way, with one of them holding a secret that needs to be uncovered by the other.
The trailer doesn't reveal the nature of the secret or who holds it, but it does make it clear that the show will feature many familiar themes (not that we're complaining). Imogen is portrayed as a rebellious figure with exceptional combat abilities and a talent for assuming different identities as she fights, kicks, shoots, and makes sarcastic remarks while traveling across Europe.
The series also features Josh Charles, Dali Benssalah, Haluk Bilginer, Alec Secareanu, Thibault de Montalembert, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, the always-impressive James Purefoy, Joana Ribeiro, Phill Langhorne, Dan Wyllie, Aron von Andrian, and Dali Benssalah.
The series was developed and written by 'Peaky Blinders' creator Steven Knight, who also serves as executive producer. Elisabeth Moss is also an executive producer, along with Lindsey McManus under their banner Love & Squalor Pictures, and Ma Productions' Denise Di Novi and Nina Tassler.
