Domantas Sabonis got 13 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists to help the Sacramento Kings beat the Toronto Raptors 123-89, marking the Raptors' eighth straight loss. The game was on Wednesday.
De’Aaron Fox scored the most points in the game with 20 for Sacramento (40-28), which has won four of its last five games. Malik Monk added 17 points off the bench.
Gary Trent Jr. led Toronto with 18 points. Toronto (23-46) has lost 10 of its last 11 games.
The Raptors' starting point guard Immanuel Quickley was unable to play due to personal reasons, adding to the list of inactive players. Head coach Darko Rajakovic mentioned that there is no set time for his return.
The Raptors were already without forward Scottie Barnes (left hand fracture), centre Jakob Poeltl (left hand torn ligament), forward-guard RJ Barrett (personal reasons), forward Chris Boucher (partial MCL tear), and guard D.J. Carton (right ankle sprain).
Sacramento quickly took a 9-3 lead at the start of the game. Toronto made a comeback with seven points from Ochai Agbaji and a three-pointer from Kelly Olynyk to take a 17-16 lead midway through the quarter.
However, the Kings were ahead 32-27 after the first quarter.
An 11-4 run by Sacramento, with a basket from Alex Len just 2:14 into the second quarter, led to a Raptors timeout. Harrison Barnes then extended the Kings' lead to 53-36 with a three-pointer.
Sacramento ended the quarter with an 11-0 run, leading 68-45 at halftime.
After Barnes put the Kings up by 30 with a three-pointer, the Raptors had a short burst of energy, reducing the lead to 78-54. Sacramento answered with a 15-1 run, topped off by a Keegan Murray dunk.
The Kings were up 99-65 at the start of the final quarter, and their starters rested while Raptors fans left early. Trent scored a three-pointer, bringing the deficit to 25 points with 4:32 remaining.
