The serious assault charges were dropped for a Wilkes-Barre man who was charged with stabbing another man at a McDonalds Restaurant in Hanover Township last month.
Shawn William Shafer, 40, of Hazle Street, was accused of stabbing Miquel Hernandez during a fight inside the restaurant on Sans Souci Parkway on Feb. 9, according to court records.
A judge dropped two charges of aggravated assault and simple assault, as well as one charge of harassment against Shafer because Hernandez did not show up to testify at a preliminary hearing in Luzerne County Central Court on Wednesday.
