Supposed billionaire Donald Trump had a public outburst on social media because he cannot afford the $454 million bond for a fraud judgment.
Trump made a post on Truth Social:
Trump expressed frustration over the judgment, claiming that it does not acknowledge his victory from last year regarding the Statute of Limitations. He criticized the judge and the Attorney General for ignoring the Appellate Court ruling and mentioned that most of the claims fall outside the Statute of Limitations.
Trump called the judge biased, crooked, and incompetent, and stated that the judge did not consider his previous win in the first Appeal. He argued that applying the proper Statute of Limitations would eliminate $350 million of the judgment. Trump accused the Attorney General of abusing her power to take his money and interfering in the election.
Trump is essentially admitting to being a fraudster but argues that the statute of limitations has expired, so he should not be held accountable for decades of fraud.
What Trump's response indicates is that he lacks the funds to cover the fraud bond.
Trump's accusation that Attorney General Letitia James is trying to steal his money is ironic because his main issue is the inability to afford the bond.He doesn't have enough money to pay the bond. James is accused of trying to take money that he doesn't even possess.
Donald Trump is attempting to delay the bond deadline, but it is unlikely to succeed. If he fails to come up with $454 million by Monday, the state will start seizing his property. Trump is unable to secure the money from a bonding company, and no conservative billionaire has offered to help him out.
It seems that the former president is facing a financial hit.
