The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in Florida has issued a warrant for Sutton’s arrest and posted about it on social media. They stated that he is wanted for aggravated battery — domestic violence. In response to a request for more information, the Hillsborough County police clarified the charge to domestic battery by strangulation.
The Detroit News’ Justin Rogers reported that the police have tried to contact Sutton multiple times but have been unsuccessful.
The police office asked on social media in a caption of Sutton’s photo if the public knows him and needs help locating him. Sutton is in the second season of his current contract with the Lions, signing a 3-year, $33 million deal to join Detroit last offseason.

According to the police, Sutton has not returned home or used his phone since the incident. He signed Phil Martello, a communications officer for the sheriff’s department, stated that Sutton has been difficult to find as he has not been at his vehicles or home and has turned off his phone.
